James H. (Hill) Smith is the managing partner of Alexander & Vann, LLP. Having joined the firm in 1984, he has nearly 40 years of experience serving clients. His practice is concentrated in the areas of residential and commercial real estate, with additional experience in plantation closings. 

Other areas of law in which Hill is experienced include the formation of business entities, drafting of wills, probate matters, mergers and acquisitions, banking, and corporate law.

Hill earned an undergraduate degree in accounting from the University of Georgia, graduating summa cum laude in 1981. He subsequently earned a law degree from the University of Georgia School of Law in 1984, graduating cum laude.

Hill is licensed to practice in the states of Georgia and Florida. He is active in the community, serving on numerous boards. He was a past President of the Rotary Club of Cairo, GA and also served on the Board of Directors for the YMCA. Notably, he also served as counsel for the Thomasville Thomas County Payroll Development Authority for twelve years. In his free time, Hill enjoys hunting, fishing, coin collecting and hunting for arrowheads.
