Jim Garland is a partner of Alexander & Vann, LLP. His practice is focused in the areas of civil litigation, business disputes and litigation as well as personal injury claims, primarily working in defense. Prior to joining Alexander & Vann, Jim worked with Hall, Bloch, Garland & Meyer.

Jim is among his family's sixth generation of Georgia lawyers. Having grown up in a family of attorneys—including father, uncles, and cousins—he will always be grateful for their mentoring, enthusiasm for the practice of law, and modeling a commitment to helping their clients.

Jim obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Georgia in 1999, and a Juris Doctor degree from Mercer University's Walter F. George School of Law in 2002. He was admitted to the Georgia Bar in 2002. 

In addition to coaching youth basketball, Jim has also served on the boards of several local charitable organizations, including the Marguerite Neel Williams Boys and Girls Club of Southwest Georgia. Jim is a fan of sports, music and the Georgia Bulldogs.
