Tom Shaw is a partner at Alexander & Vann LLP in Thomasville, Georgia. Tom has an active and diverse litigation practice, including civil rights, municipal liability, employment law, insurance defense, and business disputes.  Prior to joining Alexander & Vann, Tom was an associate at the Atlanta, Georgia firm of Alston & Bird LLP.  Previously, Tom served as a clerk to the Honorable Marc T. Treadwell, United Sates District Court Judge for the Middle District of Georgia.  Tom graduated summa cum laude from the Mercer University School of Law in 2016.  While in law school, he served as the editor-in-chief of the Mercer Law Review and was named to the Brainerd Currie Honor Society, the National Order of Scribes, and awarded the Faculty Legal Writing Award.  Tom earned an undergraduate degree in history from the University of Georgia with honors in 2012.  He has been admitted to practice law in Georgia since 2017.

Tom is on the board of directors for the Georgia Defense Lawyers Association and is active in the State Bar of Georgia.  Tom is a member the 2025 Leadership Academy for the Young Lawyers Division of the State Bar of Georgia and has previously served as the Middle District Representative for the Young Lawyers Division of the State Bar of Georgia.  Tom serves on various boards, including the board of trustees for the Thomasville Center for the Arts and the advisory board for the Marguerite Neel Williams Boys & Girls Club of Southwest Georgia. In his spare time, Tom enjoys spending time with his wife and two children and cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs. Tom and his wife are members of the First Presbyterian Church of Thomasville.
